CBD isolate is cannabidiol refined so that other cannabinoids, terpenes and plant compounds are largely removed. Buyers usually receive it as a white crystalline solid with little flavour of its own. It is the ingredient manufacturers specify when a finished oil, capsule, cosmetic or other product needs a single cannabinoid rather than a spectrum.
Trade files often ask for a purity target above 95 percent, and some ask above 98 percent. Treat those numbers as examples of how a target is written. They are not a catalogue and not a promise. The result is the figure on the lot specification, and on a certificate if you ask for one. A purity number without a method and a lot identity is not a specification.
Isolate is oil soluble and fat soluble. If you need it to disperse in water, that is a different material and a different page. Do not assume a crystalline isolate will dissolve in a beverage. Say which solvent system the finished process uses.
